Full breakdown of every restroom location inside AAC, organized by concourse level. Men's, Women's and Gender Neutral Family restrooms are in the corners of every concourse. Baby changing stations in all public restrooms. Last verified July 2026.
All public restrooms at AAC meet or exceed ADA specifications. ADA restrooms are in all 4 corners of every level: Plaza (near Sec 101, 107, 113, 119), Flagship (Sec 201, 207, 213, 219), Platinum (East & West concourse), and Admiral (Sec 301, 307, 313, 319). Elevators provide access to all concourse levels.
Gender Neutral Family restrooms in the corners of every concourse, next to all public restrooms on all 4 levels — 16 family restrooms total. Located near Sections 101/107/113/119 (Plaza), 201/207/213/219 (Flagship), and 301/307/313/319 (Admiral). Spacious enough for wheelchairs, strollers, and parents with multiple children. These are often underused and make excellent private restroom options for anyone.
Strollers are permitted inside American Airlines Center but must be collapsed and stored at your seat or at Guest Relations. Compact umbrella strollers are easiest to manage on the concourses. Elevators provide access to all levels for families with strollers or mobility needs.
For families with young children, arrive when gates open (1 hour before events) for empty restrooms and shorter food lines. The Admiral Level (upper deck) is quieter and less crowded. Ear protection is recommended for kids at high-energy games — Mavericks playoff games and Stars games can be loud. The Klyde Warren Park (0.5 mi) is a great pre-game stop with a playground and food trucks.
Dedicated nursing room across from the Modelo Gold Lion Bar & Grill on the Plaza Level. Includes ottoman, outlet, side table, and privacy curtain with a locking door.
Admiral Level (upper deck) has the best restroom-to-fan ratio. Corner restrooms on the Flagship Level also tend to be less crowded. Avoid Plaza Level at halftime or between periods.
Guests who wish to transfer to a seat from their wheelchair can store it at Guest Relations. Staff will return it at the end of the event or at any time you prefer.
Elevators provide access to all levels for guests with accessibility needs. Service animals are permitted; comfort animals are not. Animal relief area in Lot F. Contact: (214) 665-4299.

Local knowledge that will make your Mavericks or Stars game day significantly better.
Head to the Admiral Level (upper deck) for the shortest restroom lines in the arena. Most fans crowd the Plaza Level — the upper concourse has the best restroom-to-fan ratio.
Avoid restrooms at halftime or between periods — go early in the 2nd quarter or 2nd period instead. Lines on the Plaza Level can be 10+ minutes during breaks.
DART Green or Orange Line to Victory Station is the smartest way to get here. ~$3 round trip, no traffic, no parking fees, and no post-event exit problem. Steps from the arena.
Gates typically open 1 hour before tip-off or puck drop. The South Entrance (PNC Plaza) is the main entrance and gets the most traffic. North and West entrances are often less crowded.
HERO is the closest hangout. Billy Can Can for fine dining. Happiest Hour for big groups and great views. Te Deseo for rooftop vibes. All within a 5-minute walk.
Pre-book via SpotHero or ParkMobile to save $5-$15 vs gate rates. Comerica Garage is cashless only — bring a card. Or skip parking entirely and take DART.
Lyft is the official partner. Primary pick-up zone is on the north side. Wait 20-30 minutes after the event to avoid surge pricing — grab a drink at a Victory Park bar instead.
Family restrooms in the concourse corners are often underused and spacious. They work well for anyone who wants more privacy or space, not just families with children.
Summer events: park in a garage (not a surface lot) to keep your car cool. Hydrate before entering — water prices inside are steep. The arena itself is well air-conditioned.
Don't pay $6 for bottled water inside the arena. Ask any concession stand for a free cup of ice water — they will give it to you. You can also bring sealed water bottles through security. Dallas summers routinely hit 100°F+ — hydrate before and during your visit.
After sold-out events, the parking garages can take 30+ minutes to clear. Wait 20-30 minutes at a Victory Park bar (HERO, Happiest Hour) and let the garages empty. Or take DART to skip exit traffic entirely. The worst time to leave is immediately after the final horn.
Klyde Warren Park (0.5 mi) is a great family stop before events. Free playground, food trucks, and public restrooms open 6am-11pm. Walk the kids around, use the restrooms, then head to the arena. A much better pre-game option than waiting in the arena concourse.
When to expect shorter lines and when to avoid the rush. Timing your restroom visit can save you 10+ minutes of standing in line.
Light traffic. This is the best time to use the restrooms. Arrive when gates open, find your section, and use the facilities. All four levels have virtually empty restrooms during this window. Explore Victory Park and grab food before the crowds fill in.
Moderate traffic. Between-quarter and between-period breaks see small surges on the Plaza Level. Best strategy: go during the middle of a quarter or period when most fans are watching. Admiral Level (upper deck) stays quiet throughout play.
Peak traffic. Halftime (Mavericks) and intermission (Stars) are the busiest restroom periods. Plaza Level lines can exceed 10 minutes. Head to the Admiral Level or use corner family restrooms on the Flagship Level to cut wait times significantly.
Mavericks games (19,200 basketball capacity) and Stars games (18,532 hockey) have similar restroom traffic patterns. Concerts at full 21,000 capacity create the most restroom demand. Friday and Saturday night events are the busiest. Weeknight games are noticeably quieter on all levels.
Take kids to the restroom before the 2nd quarter or 2nd period starts to avoid the halftime/intermission crush. Use the corner family restrooms on any level for the shortest waits and most privacy. No line splitting required. The Admiral Level is the quietest option for families.
Dallas summers regularly exceed 100°F. Even though the arena is air-conditioned, arriving dehydrated from walking through Victory Park or parking garages can affect your comfort. Stay ahead of it.
Free cups of ice water are available at any concession stand — just ask. You don't need to buy anything. This is the easiest way to stay hydrated without paying $6+ for bottled water inside the arena.
American Airlines Center allows sealed water bottles through security. Bring a full sealed bottle and ask concession stands for free refills throughout the event. Freeze a bottle overnight for summer events — it'll stay cold through halftime.
Water fountains are located on all four concourse levels near the restroom clusters. Corner restrooms on every level have nearby fountains. The Admiral Level fountains are the least crowded.
Dallas heat is no joke. Hydrate before you arrive, especially if you're walking from DART or a parking garage. The walk from outdoor lots in 100°F heat can dehydrate you before you even enter the arena. Bring a sealed water bottle and drink it on the way in. Park in a garage (not a surface lot) to keep your car cool during the event.
Kids dehydrate faster than adults. Bring at least one sealed water bottle per child through security. Ask concession stands for cups of ice water between quarters or periods. If anyone shows signs of heat exhaustion (dizziness, nausea, headache), visit Guest Relations immediately. The arena is air-conditioned, but arriving dehydrated is the real risk.
First aid station locations, emergency contacts, and what to do if someone needs medical attention.
The first aid station is located on the Plaza Level near Guest Relations. It is staffed by medical professionals during all events at AAC. The first aid station has its own restroom — useful if you need a quiet, private facility in an emergency.
Arena emergencies: Find any uniformed staff member and they will radio for immediate assistance. Call (214) 665-4299 for Guest Relations and accessibility assistance. For medical emergencies, EMTs are stationed throughout the arena on event nights. Dialing 911 from inside the arena will connect to Dallas emergency services.
Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) are located at the first aid station and at multiple points on each concourse level. All AAC event staff are trained in basic emergency response. The service animal relief area is in Lot F — ask Guest Relations for directions if needed.
Ben Jarvie is the founder of DunnyDash — the restroom finder for people who'd rather not gamble. A lifelong traveler, trekker, and self-described tumbleweed who has explored every corner of Australia and beyond, Ben built DunnyDash because he got tired of the three-search, one-desperate-purchase routine. After 17+ years on the road running service-based businesses, he turned that hard-won knowledge of every rest stop, stadium bathroom, and roadside block into a proper restroom finder — pulling from government open data, community contributions, and the kind of on-the-ground verification that comes from actually using the facilities. He writes about public infrastructure, accessibility, travel logistics, and the unglamorous-but-essential question of where to go when you need to go.
