A complete guide to every restroom at NRG Stadium — including family rooms, ADA accessible facilities, and insider tips for shorter lines.
NRG Stadium opened on August 24, 2002 as Reliant Stadium, becoming the first NFL stadium with a retractable roof. Built at a cost of $352 million, it was designed by HOK Sport (now Populous) and sits within the NRG Park complex alongside the NRG Center, NRG Arena, and the Astrodome — the iconic 'Eighth Wonder of the World' that it replaced.
The stadium was renamed NRG Stadium in 2014 as part of a naming rights extension. It has hosted two Super Bowls (XXXVIII in 2004 and LI in 2017 — the famous Patriots comeback), the annual Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo (the world's largest), NCAA Final Fours, and major concerts. The retractable roof takes about 10 minutes to open or close and spans 600,000 square feet of playing surface.
NRG Stadium has restrooms on all concourse levels — 100, 300, and 500 levels. Family restrooms are available on every level. The stadium also features a Universal Changing Restroom with a ceiling hoist for individuals with disabilities.
ADA-accessible restrooms are available on all levels. The stadium has a Universal Changing Restroom with a ceiling track hoist and adult-sized changing table — one of very few NFL stadiums to offer this. Elevators connect all levels. For accessibility assistance, visit Guest Services.
Family restrooms with baby changing stations are located on all concourse levels (100, 300, 500). A nursing room with power outlets and comfortable seating is located near Section 133. The Universal Changing Restroom serves individuals of all ages and abilities.
Restrooms are accessible once inside the stadium. Gates typically open 2 hours before NFL kickoff. The NRG Park complex outside the stadium has limited public restroom access on non-event days.

The 500 level restrooms are significantly less crowded than the 100 level, especially at halftime. Worth the elevator ride to skip the lines.

If you're tailgating in the parking lots, there are no public restrooms outside the stadium gates — plan accordingly or use portable facilities if available in your lot area.
All concourse restrooms are open. Gates open 2 hours before kickoff. Halftime sees the heaviest restroom traffic — go during the 2nd quarter to avoid the rush. The retractable roof may be open or closed depending on weather.
The Rodeo runs for about three weeks in late February/March and draws over 2.5 million visitors. Restroom facilities are heavily used — extra portable facilities are added throughout NRG Park. Arrive early for the best experience.
