The Burleigh Heads National Park headland walk is one of the Gold Coast's most popular walks — rainforest, ocean views, and wildlife. But there are zero toilet facilities on the entire circuit.
Before you start (north)
Use the Burleigh Beach block on Goodwin Terrace or the Burleigh Heads Park block. Both are within 100 metres of the headland track start.
On the walk
30-45 minutes through rainforest with no facilities. The track is rocky in parts with no easy exit points. Once you start, you're committed.
At the end (south)
The national park car park on Tallebudgera Creek Road has toilets. If you're doing the full loop, this is the first facility you'll reach on the southern side.
Burleigh is split between the beach/headland area and the village cafe strip. Here's your nearest dunny based on what you're doing.
Burleigh Beach (Goodwin Terrace)
Main beachfront block opposite the surf club. Showers, accessible stall, baby change.
This is the main toilet block for the famous Burleigh surf break. Right on Goodwin Terrace with outdoor showers to rinse off. The accessible stall has grab rails and baby change table. Gets very busy on weekends — expect queues after 10am in summer.
Burleigh Beach or NP car park
Use the loo BEFORE you start. Nothing on the headland. 30-45 min circuit.
If starting from the north (beach end), use the Goodwin Terrace block. If starting from the south (Tallebudgera Creek Road), the NP car park has a toilet. Either way, don't start the walk without going first.
Justin Park toilets
Near Burleigh's popular cafe and boutique shopping strip. Small council block.
Justin Park is in the heart of the Burleigh village. The cafe strip along James Street and Connor Street has dozens of excellent cafes — most with customer toilets. But Justin Park is the public fallback if you're just walking the strip.
Tallebudgera Creek toilets
Calm, flat-water swimming spot. Perfect for families with small kids.
Tallebudgera Creek inlet is one of the Gold Coast's best family swimming spots — no waves, shallow entry, crystal clear water. The toilet block is near the SLSC. Open 24 hours but basic facilities.
Burleigh Heads Park
Near the ocean pool and picnic areas. Dogs on-leash in the park areas.
Burleigh Heads Park sits between the beach and the headland. It has accessible facilities and is near the ocean pool. Note: dogs are NOT allowed in the national park or on the main beach during patrol hours.
Justin Park (300m walk)
The Village Markets at the state school don't have public toilets.
The Village Markets (first and third Sunday, plus Saturdays) are at Burleigh Heads State School on Tallebudgera Creek Road. No public toilets at the venue. Justin Park is 300m walk, or Goodwin Terrace block is 500m. The markets get packed — go before you shop.
Burleigh has two personalities: the surf beach and cafe strip (with toilets) and the national park headland (without). Here's the breakdown.
