Home of Kansas City Chiefs
A complete guide to every restroom at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium — including family rooms, ADA accessible facilities, and insider tips for shorter lines.
Arrowhead Stadium opened on August 12, 1972, as part of the Harry S. Truman Sports Complex, alongside neighboring Kauffman Stadium (home of the Kansas City Royals). Ground broke on July 11, 1968, and the complex cost $256 million (adjusted for inflation) to build. The stadium was designed by Kivett and Myers architects with its signature open-bowl design and rolling berm exterior.
Arrowhead set the Guinness World Record for loudest crowd roar at a sports stadium on September 29, 2014, reaching 142.2 decibels during a Monday Night Football game against the New England Patriots. Chiefs fans had previously set the record at 137.5 dB in 2013.
A massive $375 million renovation completed in 2010 modernized the venue with wider concourses (expanded by 60%), a 100% increase in restroom fixtures, new luxury suites, the CommunityAmerica Club Level, and upgraded concession areas. The renovation also added the Chiefs Hall of Honor and the signature red end zones. Capacity was originally 78,097 but has been adjusted to the current 76,416 through various code-driven upgrades.
The stadium was renamed GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium in 2021 as part of a naming rights deal. It hosted six FIFA World Cup 2026 matches, bringing international football to the venue for the first time. Arrowhead is currently the oldest stadium in the American Football Conference.
Arrowhead Stadium has restrooms on every concourse level — Field Level (100 Level), CommunityAmerica Club Level (200 Level), and Upper Level (300 Level). The 2010 renovation doubled the number of restroom fixtures throughout the stadium and widened concourses by 60%, significantly reducing wait times compared to the original 1972 configuration. Family restrooms with changing tables are located on each level.
All restrooms are ADA accessible. Elevators provide access between all levels. Wheelchair-accessible seating and companion seating are available throughout the stadium. For ADA assistance, contact Guest Services or call (816) 920-9300.
Family restrooms are located on each level: Sections 108 and 122 (Field Level), Section 210 (Club Level), and Sections 314 and 334 (Upper Level). All have changing tables and are single-occupancy rooms.
There are no public restrooms inside the stadium on non-event days. The Truman Sports Complex parking lots have portable restrooms available during tailgating hours on game days. The nearest permanent public restrooms outside events are at businesses along Blue Ridge Cutoff.

Arrowhead's tailgating scene is legendary. Arrive at least 3 hours before kickoff and head to Lot N or Lot J for the most active tailgating. Kansas City BBQ in the parking lot is half the game-day experience.
The 2010 renovation doubled the number of restroom fixtures, but halftime lines on the Field Level sideline sections (108-125) can still be brutal. Head to the Upper Level or the end zone concourse for shorter waits.
Family restrooms are single-occupancy and lines move slowly. There are five total across three levels — check the next closest section if the one near you is backed up.
Kauffman Stadium is directly next door. If you're attending a doubleheader of Chiefs and Royals games (different days), use the same parking lot and walk between stadiums in about 5 minutes.
The Chiefs Kingdom Express bus is free from the Power & Light District downtown. It eliminates the parking hassle entirely and drops you right at the gates.
Portable restrooms in the parking lots are available during tailgating hours (4.5 hours before kickoff). Use them before entering the stadium to avoid the initial gate-opening restroom rush.
All concourses and restrooms are open. Gates open 90 minutes before kickoff. Parking lots open 4.5 hours before kickoff for tailgating. Arrowhead is an open-air stadium — dress for weather in late-season games. Restroom lines peak at halftime. The Chiefs Kingdom Express offers free bus service from downtown on game days.
Arrowhead Stadium hosted six FIFA World Cup 2026 matches as part of the first expanded 48-team tournament. Enhanced security, additional temporary restroom facilities, and modified concourse layouts may differ from standard NFL configurations. International fans should note that tailgating policies may be adjusted for FIFA events.
Concert configurations may modify seating and concourse access. Additional temporary restroom facilities are typically placed around the perimeter for large events. Taylor Swift's Eras Tour performed to 150,000+ fans across two nights in July 2023. The Field Level concourse remains the primary restroom and concession area during concerts.
