Gillette Stadium opened on September 9, 2002, replacing the aging Foxboro Stadium across Route 1. Built at a cost of $325 million, entirely privately funded by Kraft Group, the stadium was designed by Populous and features a distinctive lighthouse structure at the north entrance.
The venue sits at the center of Patriot Place, a 1.3 million square-foot open-air shopping, dining, and entertainment complex developed by the Kraft Group. Patriot Place features 19 restaurants, retail shops, the Hall at Patriot Place (Patriots museum), and a Bass Pro Shops.
Gillette Stadium has undergone significant renovations, including a reimagined fan plaza, the 50,000 square-foot G-P Atrium, enhanced Row of Honor, a field-level Bud Light Celebration Beer Hall, a new Ticketmaster entry canopy, connectivity improvements on the upper concourse for east-to-west movement, increased restroom capacity, and permanent bar and concession locations.
The Patriots have announced plans for a new stadium adjacent to the current site, expected to open in the late 2020s. Gillette Stadium continues as the home venue until then. The stadium is located approximately 30 miles southwest of Boston.
Gillette Stadium has recently renovated restrooms throughout the concourse — men's, women's, and family facilities on the Main Concourse, Club Level (200 Level), and Upper Concourse (300 Level). Recent improvements have increased restroom capacity. The Upper Concourse now has east-to-west connectivity for better access.

Family restrooms are located on the Main Concourse (Section 140), Club Level (Sections 203, 217, 224, 237), Upper Concourse (Sections 304, 314, 326, 336), and in both the East and West Cross Insurance Clubs. A nursing station is at Section 131 inside the First Aid station.
Restrooms are accessible once inside the stadium. Gates open 2 hours before kickoff. Patriot Place restaurants and retail shops surrounding the stadium have public restrooms available year-round.

Patriot Place is the massive 1.3 million square-foot shopping and dining complex surrounding Gillette Stadium. It is open year-round with 19 restaurants, retail shops, and public restrooms — use Patriot Place restrooms before entering the stadium.
FREE general parking is available on the opposite side of Route 1 from the stadium. Pre-paid parking on the stadium side can be purchased in advance. This is one of the few NFL stadiums with free parking options.
The Upper Concourse (300 Level) now has east-to-west connectivity after recent renovations, which makes it easier to access restrooms on either side. Previously, you had to go down and back up to cross — this is a huge improvement.
Foxborough is about 30 miles southwest of Boston with no direct public transit. Plan to drive or take an organized bus/shuttle. Traffic on Route 1 before and after games is notoriously congested — arrive early.
CBS Sporting Club at Patriot Place is one of the most popular pre-game spots — it has table-top televisions and a 360 square-foot projection wall. It is also a good option if you want to watch the game without a ticket.

Gillette Stadium offers FREE general parking across Route 1 — one of the few NFL stadiums with free options. The walk is 10-15 minutes. Pre-paid parking on the stadium side runs $40-60 and is closer. Uber/Lyft drop-off and pick-up is in Lot 15 near the CVS Health Gate. Traffic on Route 1 is brutal before and after games — arrive early or plan to stay at Patriot Place restaurants after the game.
