loanDepot Park opened on April 4, 2012, as Marlins Park, replacing the Marlins' long tenure at the shared Sun Life Stadium (now Hard Rock Stadium) in Miami Gardens. Built at a cost of approximately $634 million on the former site of the Orange Bowl, it was the first new baseball-only facility in South Florida.
The stadium features a retractable roof that can open or close in approximately 13 minutes, making it one of only a handful of MLB parks with that capability. The climate-controlled environment is essential in Miami's subtropical heat and frequent afternoon thunderstorms. It seats approximately 36,742 fans across three main seating levels: Promenade (lower), Legends (middle), and Vista (upper).
The ballpark was originally known for its home run sculpture by artist Red Grooms — a 73-foot-tall, 120-ton kinetic sculpture in center field that animated marlins, pelicans, flamingos, and palm trees whenever a Marlins player hit a home run. The sculpture was removed in 2019. The park was renamed loanDepot park in 2021. It sits at the doorstep of Little Havana, one of Miami's most culturally vibrant neighborhoods, centered around Calle Ocho (SW 8th Street).
loanDepot Park has restrooms on all levels across three main seating areas — Promenade Level, Legends Level, and Vista Level. Exterior restrooms are also available adjacent to the Home Plate Entrance before entering the stadium. All restrooms are wheelchair accessible.

Family restrooms are located on the Promenade Level (Sections 4, 16, 28), Legends Level (Section 205), and Vista Level (Section 305). All have changing tables.
Exterior restrooms adjacent to the Home Plate Entrance are available on game days before entering the stadium. Inside restrooms are accessible once you enter through the gates, which typically open 90 minutes before first pitch.

The exterior restrooms at the Home Plate Entrance are available before you even enter the stadium — use them to avoid the initial rush when gates open.
The Vista Level restrooms are the least crowded in the park, especially during mid-game innings. Worth the elevator ride even if you're sitting on the Promenade Level.
The retractable roof keeps things cool, but the Promenade Level concourse behind home plate still gets heavy foot traffic. Use the outfield concourse restrooms near Sections 35-40 for shorter lines.
Family restrooms are spread across all three levels (Sections 4, 16, 28 on Promenade; 205 on Legends; 305 on Vista). If one has a line, check the next closest level.
Walk to Calle Ocho before or after the game for the best Cuban coffee and sandwiches in Miami — it is only about a 10-minute walk from the stadium.
The Brightline HOME RUNNER shuttle is free with your train ticket and runs from MiamiCentral — the best option if you are coming from Fort Lauderdale or West Palm Beach.
All concourses and restrooms are open. Gates open 90 minutes before first pitch. The retractable roof can open or close in approximately 13 minutes. All restrooms remain available regardless of roof position. The Promenade Level behind home plate sees the heaviest restroom traffic during the 5th and 7th innings.
Concert configurations vary by artist and stage setup. Most restrooms across all levels remain open. Some premium areas may be restricted. Additional restrooms may be set up on the exterior plazas.

loanDepot Park has four garages and six surface lots with parking ranging from $11-$36. Valet ($30-$45) is only available at the Home Plate Garage — must be purchased in advance. The Culmer Metrorail station is about a mile walk, and the Marlins run a game-day shuttle from there. Brightline passengers get a free shuttle from MiamiCentral with a HOME RUNNER ticket.
