    Mt Coolum — Know Before You Climb

    Mt Coolum is a 208-metre volcanic dome and one of the Sunshine Coast's most popular walks. Here's the dunny situation.

    No Toilet at the Summit

    There is no toilet at the top of Mt Coolum. The only facility is at the car park at the base of the track. The climb takes 25-30 minutes up and 15-20 minutes down.

    Use the car park toilet before you start. If you need to go mid-climb, you'll need to come all the way back down. There are no bushes for cover on the exposed rocky summit section.

    The Walk

    800m each way. Steep. Rocky scramble near the top. 30 minutes up, 20 down. Not suitable for prams or wheelchairs. Early morning is best — gets hot and exposed.
