Falls Creek has two types of toilets: heated village facilities (winter) and basic alpine pit toilets (backcountry). Here's what to expect.
Village Day Parking toilets
Heated, maintained during ski season. Near the main lifts and village centre.
The village is car-free in winter — everything is ski-in/ski-out. The day parking toilet is your first and last stop. Most lodges and restaurants also have customer facilities.
Cloud 9 (High 5 run)
The only on-mountain toilet outside the village. Basic but functional.
Cloud 9 is the mid-mountain option. If you're skiing the Summit area or Ruined Castle, you'll need to ski back to the village — there's nothing else up top.
Howmans Gap (halfway)
The only toilet between Mount Beauty and the village. 15km from each.
Howmans Gap is where you fit chains in winter. It has the best accessibility of any Falls Creek facility — purpose-built for people with disabilities. Use it before the final steep climb.
Village toilets
Falls Creek has an extensive mountain bike trail network in summer.
The village toilets stay open for mountain bikers, hikers, and summer visitors. The backcountry huts also have pit toilets if you're riding the High Plains trails.
Alpine hut pit toilets
10 bush camping areas with basic pit toilets across the Bogong High Plains.
These are composting or pit toilets at alpine camping areas. No water, no lighting, no heating. Bring your own toilet paper. Most are a significant hike from any road.
Pretty Valley Precinct

Pretty Valley is Falls Creek's cross-country skiing area. The toilet facility here is basic and may require digging out of snow early in the season.
Falls Creek is a different beast depending on the season. Here's what's open when.
